Vision Zero is a strategy to end all traffic-related deaths and severe injuries by making streets safer for all who use them, from pedestrians and bicyclists to drivers and riders of public transit. The City of Philadelphia adopted a Vision Zero Action Plan that aims to eliminate traffic deaths by 2030.

Wissahickon Avenue from Hunting Park Avenue and Midvale Avenue was identified by the City of Philadelphia as a top priority for safety improvements due to its high rate of severe crashes. The study corridor was extended to Wissahickon Avenue because it is another top safety priority for the City.

The project team at DVRPC will look at crash data and collaborate with members of the community and other local stakeholders to conduct a safety audit of this section of Wissahickon Avenue. We will use the information gathered to develop traffic safety recommendations.

To be entered into the giveaway, you must (1) submit a completed survey and (2) be a resident of the 9-county DVRPC region. Individuals must enter their email address or phone number while completing the survey to be entered into the giveaway. Individuals who meet both of these requirements will be entered into a random drawing for one of four $50 gift cards. An individual can only win one gift card.  

Anyone who lives in the DVRPC region is eligible to participate. The counties in the region include Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, and Chester counties in Pennsylvania; and Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Mercer counties in New Jersey. Employees of DVRPC, Board Members (appointed and alternate), and their immediate families, are not eligible to win one of the gift cards.

Entries will be accepted from October 1, 2024 to October 31, 2024 at 5 PM local time.

Prizes

• Four (4) gift cards, valued at $50 each 

Four contest participants will be awarded one gift card each. 

Winners will be randomly selected and notified by December 20, 2024. Qualified entrants must have completed the survey and entered their email address or phone number at the end of the survey. 

For those who win, DVRPC will be in contact to request your mailing address. The cards will be mailed via certified mail.
