Established in September 2005, the Regional Safety Task Force brings together a multi-disciplinary group of professionals to identify safety goals, strategies and resources. A primary goal of the Task Force is to build and maintain effective partnerships with the purpose of reducing the number of crashes and eliminating serious injuries and fatalities from crashes in the region. DVRPC's intent was to develop a forum for safety initiatives/programs with significant input from non-traditional partners as well as our traditional planning partners. The membership of the Task Force is diverse, multidisciplinary (engineering, education, enforcement, emergency services, legislation and funding) and multimodal (automobile, truck, transit, bicycle, foot and train). The Task Force plays a significant role in the development of the Regional Safety Action Plan.
